Clik here to view.Wow it’s the end of August already and the wedding is only a little over a month away! In the midst of all the on-going planning and preparations, Kayla had a bridal shower in July at Pinedale Christian Church. She looked so beautiful and was very excited! Jeff was also able to attend the shower. I’m sure he doesn’t want me to say he was beautiful, but he was definitely excited as well. And, of course, as the mom of the bride-to-be, their excitement was contagious. Image may be NSFW.

All of her bridesmaids helped with food preparation as well as setting up and cleaning up. Kayla has the most wonderful friends! They put in a ton of hard work on the shower. I was impressed with all the attention to details! They went with two of Kayla’s favorite summer colors, lime green and hot pink, as the theme. (Doesn’t she look lovely in her dress to match the colors?)
We were so blessed to have family and friends from all areas of her life in attendance. Jeff’s sister, Ashley, flew down from Delaware to attend the shower and to help with preparations. Also, the family that babysat Kayla when she was just a baby was in attendance. They remain special to our family to this day. It was so wonderful to see all of the people who have helped shape Kayla into the lovely young woman she is today!
The food was plentiful and delicious. We had the most amazing buffalo chicken dip, along with BBQ cocktail weenies, and both pineapple cream cheese and chicken salad sandwiches. The beautiful cake was created by Let Me Call You Sweet Art, who is also doing Kayla and Jeff’s wedding cake. Janet, the owner, created the most delicious flavors of cupcakes including: Peaches and Cream, Strawberry Daquari and Citrus Blossom cupcakes. (My mouth waters just thinking about it now!)Image may be NSFW.

Everyone played a fun game of “how well do you know bride and groom.” I thought it was unfair if I played, so I just watched everyone else, although I would have gotten their favorite movie incorrect (The Notebook). Kayla’s future sister-in-law, Ashley, was the winner. It was a lot of fun for everyone!
And last, but not least, was opening the shower gifts. Kayla and Jeff received a wonderful assortment of gifts to start their new life together. I was touched by how sweet and thoughtful the gifts were. They had a blast opening them and can’t wait to put them all to good use.Image may be NSFW.

All in all, it was a remarkable day with a joyful celebration. We had such a great time! I am so grateful to everyone that came to share in this special occasion with us and cannot wait to see them all at the wedding. I am so excited thinking about my daughter’s future with Jeff!
